Ingredients
2 medium boiled potatoes (optional)
½ tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
2–3 Green Chilies or Red Chili Powder (as per taste)
½ tsp Sugar
Salt (as per taste)
Coriander Leaves – chopped
Oil or Ghee (for frying)
1 tbsp Yogurt (optional – adds tangy flavor)
A few peanuts (optional)
Preparation Steps
Step 1: Prep the Ingredients
Peel and mash the boiled potatoes.
Finely chop green chilies and coriander leaves.
Step 2: Make the Dough
In a bowl, mix all ingredients – Upwas Thalipeeth Flour, mashed potatoes, cumin seeds, crushed peanuts, coriander, salt, and sugar.
Knead into a stiff dough.
Add water or yogurt if the dough feels too thick.
Set aside for 10–15 minutes.
Step 3: Shape the Thalipeeth
Divide the dough into equal-sized balls.
Grease a plastic sheet, banana leaf, or rolling board with oil.
Flatten one dough ball into a small circle using your palm.
Make a small hole in the center to help it cook evenly.
Step 4: Cook the Thalipeeth
Heat a pan and drizzle some oil or ghee.
Place the flattened thalipeeth on it.
Cook on medium flame for 2–3 minutes until golden brown.
Flip and cook the other side until both sides are evenly golden.
Step 5: Serve & Enjoy
