Ingredients

  1. 1½ cup Sonkan’s Roasted Upwas Thalipeeth Flour

  2. 2 medium boiled potatoes (optional)

  3. ½ tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)

  4. 2–3 Green Chilies or Red Chili Powder (as per taste)

  5. ½ tsp Sugar

  6. Salt (as per taste)

  7. Coriander Leaves – chopped

  8. Oil or Ghee (for frying)

  9. 1 tbsp Yogurt (optional – adds tangy flavor)

  10. A few peanuts (optional)


Preparation Steps

Step 1: Prep the Ingredients

  • Peel and mash the boiled potatoes.

  • Finely chop green chilies and coriander leaves.


Step 2: Make the Dough

  • In a bowl, mix all ingredients – Upwas Thalipeeth Flour, mashed potatoes, cumin seeds, crushed peanuts, coriander, salt, and sugar.

  • Knead into a stiff dough.

  • Add water or yogurt if the dough feels too thick.

  • Set aside for 10–15 minutes.


Step 3: Shape the Thalipeeth

  • Divide the dough into equal-sized balls.

  • Grease a plastic sheet, banana leaf, or rolling board with oil.

  • Flatten one dough ball into a small circle using your palm.

  • Make a small hole in the center to help it cook evenly.


Step 4: Cook the Thalipeeth

  • Heat a pan and drizzle some oil or ghee.

  • Place the flattened thalipeeth on it.

  • Cook on medium flame for 2–3 minutes until golden brown.

  • Flip and cook the other side until both sides are evenly golden.


Step 5: Serve & Enjoy
